About the event
Before the second Tokyo Olympics in 2020, experience the changes, transitions, and developments from 1964 to 2020, the year of the previous Tokyo Olympics, through music. Japan's first professional chamber choir, the Japan Chorus Association (Japanese Chorus) was founded in 1963. The following year, the year 1964, when the Tokyo Olympics were held, was the year when the timeless masterpiece "Water Life" in the chorus world was premiered by Japanese chorus, and it was also a memorable year when the Japanese chorus world opened up a new era. be. Like the capital city of Tokyo, which developed at a rapid pace after the Tokyo Olympics, the chorus world has since developed significantly and continues to this day. Three chorus songs from 1964 and a new work "Kimi ga Dai Fantastic Song" commissioned by young composer Kentaro Shuto, who will be active in 2020, will feature "World Travel with Glittering Stars" focusing on the music of each country participating in the Olympic Games. In addition, we will follow the music scene of the year when the Tokyo Olympics were held twice.
